Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4

Our legacy for the future.

A benchmark for design and technology.

(I). With a combined maximum output of 814 hp (rounded down to 800 in the name) from the naturally aspirated engine (780 hp) and electric motor (34 hp) and the permanent all-wheel drive, the LPI 800-4 achieves peak values such as acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, from 0 to 200 km/h in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 355 km/h. Lamborghini introduces the Countach LPI 800-4: a futuristic limited edition that pays homage to the Countach's iconic status as a revolutionary in design and technology, reimagined for the 21st century.

purist design

Its purist lines immediately reveal the heritage of the Countach: the patriarch of modern super sports cars and Lamborghini design. With its naturally aspirated V12 engine combined with Lamborghini's hybrid supercapacitor technology, the Countach LPI 800-4 preserves the inimitable experience of the V12 and the sound of its Longitudinale Posteriore (LP) powerplant combined with the hybrid technology developed for the Sián

Visionary technology of the future

The Countach's unmistakable silhouette, with its main line running from front to rear, sharp angles and lines and idiosyncratic wedge shape, has innovated modern super sports car design in the same way as subsequent Lamborghini models. The Countach LPI 800-4 continues the characteristic lines of the five Countach models built over almost 20 years and concentrates on the purest realisation of the legendary car design.

The final design is clear and simple, with references to the first production versions LP 500 and LP 400. To give the LPI 800-4 the unmistakable face of a Countach, inspiration was taken from the Quattrovalvole edition; through the confident lines of the bonnet with the wide, low, rectangular radiator grille and headlights and through the wheel arches with their hexagonal motif. The sharp slope of the roofline echoes the straight design language of the original Countach and blends into the dynamic line from the front to the rear. There is no fixed rear wing outside the clean lines, and the air scoops are smoothly integrated into the powerful shoulders, which are adorned with the characteristic slotted Countach gills. The iconic and aerodynamically effective NACA air intakes cut into the side and doors of the Countach LPI 800-4, while the distinctive Periscopio lines, which run through the roof to the rear of the car and are particularly striking when viewed from above, appear to float towards the rear.

The rear of the Countach LPI 800-4 is immediately recognisable by its characteristic inverted wedge shape. The rear bumper has a low, slim line and the 'Hexagonita' design characterises the three-part rear lights. The LPI 800-4 features the typical four tailpipes of the Countach family, which are connected to the carbon fibre rear diffuser. Access for the driver and front passenger is of course via the iconic scissor doors, which were first introduced on the Countach and have become the hallmark of Lamborghini V12 models.

"The Countach is one of the most significant and exciting cars in the history of the automobile and the history of Lamborghini," says Mitja Borkert, Head of Design at Lamborghini. "The Countach LPI 800-4 project is an unrivalled design opportunity: to take such a significant car into a new era is a unique privilege. The Countach was provocative and polarising, it made people smile and stare, but its notorious recognisability shows the purity of its design heritage: the Countach LPI 800-4 takes this clarity to a new level, celebrated in an exclusive limited edition that takes its place in automotive history."
